Timothee Chalamet Stars in Bob Dylan Biopic 'A Complete Unknown' Set for December 25 Release

Searchlight Pictures has officially announced that Timothee Chalamet's highly-anticipated biopic, 'A Complete Unknown', will be released in theatres on December 25. Under the direction of James Mangold, the film delves into the formative years of iconic singer Bob Dylan, detailing his climb to prominence during the 1960s music scene, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Chalamet, acclaimed for his performances in 'Dune' and 'Wonka', will not only portray Dylan but also perform the film's music, exhibiting his vocal prowess. The ensemble cast includes Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, Dan Fogler as Albert Grossman, PJ Byrne as Harold Leventhal, Norbert Leo Butz as Alan Lomax, Will Harrison as Bob Neuwirth, and Scoot McNairy as Woody Guthrie.

The Hollywood Reporter outlines the film's narrative, set against the backdrop of early 1960s New York. A 19-year-old from Minnesota ventures into the West Village armed with his guitar and remarkable talent, poised to revolutionize American music. His swift ascent to fame intertwines with his evolving personal relationships, ultimately leading him to challenge the prevailing folk movement in a move that resonates globally. James Mangold, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jay Cocks, shared his inspiration for the project.

"The tale of a young, 19-year-old Bob Dylan arriving in New York with only two dollars and becoming an international phenomenon within three years is astounding. A trailer for 'A Complete Unknown' has been released, showcasing Chalamet's rendition of Dylan's classic 'A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall' and visual glimpses of Dylan's life and career.
