Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt has expressed his interest in taking on more romance dramas, reminiscent of his 1991 hit, 'Saajan'.

With over 40 years in the industry, Dutt, a veteran of Hindi cinema, stated he remains open to romantic roles if provided with a compelling script. ''Will do romance if any good film comes. My generation worked for mass (cinema) so we are massy heroes. I did 'Saajan' one time. It was a good film with good songs. I can do one more 'Saajan' (like film),'' said Dutt, reminiscing about his role as a sensitive poet in the film co-starring Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan.

Directed by Lawrence D'Souza, 'Saajan' is one of the few romance dramas in Dutt's largely action-oriented filmography.

The 65-year-old actor shared his thoughts at the launch event of the song 'Big Bull' from his upcoming Telugu film 'Double iSmart', directed by Jagannadh Puri and featuring Ram Pothineni.

Dutt, who plays the antagonist, has also portrayed similar roles in recent films like 'Leo' (2023) and 'KGF: Chapter 2' (2022), appreciating the action-packed aspect of these characters. ''Negative is a good space to be in. One can do a lot. I get to do a lot of action. It's good that there is something to do for actors after so many films,'' he stated.

Scheduled for release on August 15, 'Double iSmart' is a sequel to the 2019 sci-fi action film 'iSmart Shankar.' The film will be available in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, and is produced under the banner of Puri Connects by Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur.
