A 22-year-old man drowned in the Ganga in Garh Mukteshwar while immersing his deceased father's ashes, police reported on Thursday. The tragic incident occurred at Brajghat.
According to officials, Arjun Vaid was conducting the last rites for his father, Babli Vaid, who had died from a cardiac arrest a day prior.
Despite rescue attempts by nearby divers, Arjun was swept away by the current and tragically lost his life. The Vaid family resides in Pilakhuwa district.
