Dhiraj Singh, a senior Indian Information Service officer, has been appointed as the director of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune. Singh, who is currently the additional director general in the Press Information Bureau, will assume his new role on Monday for a five-year tenure.

Dhiraj Singh, a seasoned Indian Information Service officer, has taken on a new role as the director of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune, effective from Monday, according to an official order released on Thursday.
Singh, a 1995 batch officer, currently serves as the additional director general at the Press Information Bureau, where he oversees media and communications for the Prime Minister's Office. He will replace Sandeep Shahare at FTII.
In addition to his professional achievements, Singh has authored the book 'Modern Masters of Cinema: A Personal Pantheon', which was published this year. His appointment at FTII will span five years.
