West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her heartfelt greetings to the tribal people on the International Day of the World's Indigenous People, reaffirming her government's commitment to their development.

Banerjee took part in a state-sponsored event in Jhargram district, marking the day as 'Adivasi Dibas'. She highlighted the contributions of the Adivasi community to society and the environment while celebrating their rich traditions, art, and heritage.

Banerjee mentioned that her administration had created a separate department and several development boards to safeguard the rights and welfare of the tribal population. She assured that laws have been enacted to protect their land and promised continued efforts for their comprehensive development.
