Graeme Mason has been appointed as the new Chair of the New Zealand Film Commission, as announced by Arts Minister Paul Goldsmith.
“Graeme brings extensive leadership skills and a wealth of experience from both local and international film industries,” Goldsmith stated. “His background includes a decade as Chief Executive of Screen Australia, over four years as Chief Executive of NZFC, and more than 30 years in film, television, and multimedia.”
Mason’s career includes significant roles with major studios in the US, a UK television network, and various independent producers and government agencies. His experience in supporting creatives and connecting them with audiences worldwide will be a valuable asset to the NZFC.
Goldsmith also expressed gratitude to outgoing Chair Alastair Carruthers for his dedicated service and significant contributions to the board.
