Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday highlighted the pressing need to preserve the distinctive tribal culture and identity of the state's indigenous communities. Speaking at the launch of 'Adivasi Mahotsav-2024' in Ranchi, Soren called for the recognition and protection of the exploited tribal people's rights.
The launch coincided with the International Day of the World's Indigenous People, bringing traditional dances and music to the forefront with performances by tribal men and women. The festival, held at Bhagwan Birsa Munda Memorial Park cum Museum in Jail Chowk, aims to celebrate and promote the diverse traditions of various tribal communities.
Soren, along with Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and other dignitaries, unveiled 12 books and handed over community forest rights leases spanning 73,583 acres to representatives from different districts. Tribal artists from multiple states and tribes participated, making the festival a vibrant display of art, culture, and solidarity.
