It was a chance meeting on a movie set in the 1960s between Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar that marked the genesis of one of Bollywood's most successful screenwriting partnerships. Their fortuitous encounter on the 1966 film 'Sarhadi Lutera' set the stage for a legendary collaboration.

Akhtar, reminiscing at the trailer launch of the Prime Video docuseries 'Angry Young Men', recalled Khan's encouragement. 'If you can write so well for a film like this, you'd write so much better for better films,' Khan had said, propelling Akhtar to pen scripts for iconic films including 'Zanjeer', 'Sholay', and 'Deewar'.

The docuseries, directed by Namrata Rao, chronicles their creative journey and lasting legacy. It reflects on their time together, with anecdotes about their early struggles, mutual support, and growing influence in Bollywood—a partnership that grew organically into history.
