Tamil Nadu Honors Luminaries with Prestigious Awards

Veteran Congress leader Kumari Ananthan received the 'Thagaisal Tamizhar' Award from Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin during Independence Day celebrations. Other awardees included ISRO’s P Veeramuthuvel, nurse A Sabeena, and social worker M Soosai Antony. Various other individuals and institutions were also recognized for their exemplary contributions.

Veteran Congress leader and noted Tamil orator Kumari Ananthan was conferred the 'Thagaisal Tamizhar' (eminent Tamilian) Award by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin during the Independence Day celebrations.

In addition to Ananthan, Stalin presented various awards, including the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Award to ISRO's P Veeramuthuvel for his outstanding services in space research. The Chief Minister also distributed sweets to differently-abled children on the occasion.

The Kaplana Chawla Award for Courage was presented to A Sabeena, a nurse from the Nilgiris district, who heroically saved over 35 lives during landslides in Wayanad. Several other awards were given for exemplary services in fields like social work and rehabilitation, recognizing individuals and institutions committed to societal welfare.
