MIT NSS Units Honored with Humanitarian Excellence Award 2024

The National Service Scheme Units I & II of Manipal Institute of Technology were awarded the 'Humanitarian Excellence Award 2024' by I Care Foundation India. Presented by NITI Aayog & MSME, Government of India, the recognition highlights their impactful social work including blood donation, environmental conservation, and public awareness initiatives.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Units I & II of the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) were recently bestowed with the prestigious ''Humanitarian Excellence Award 2024''. This accolade, given by the I Care Foundation India under the auspices of NITI Aayog & MSME, Government of India, recognizes their remarkable social work initiatives.

The award ceremony, which coincided with the 78th Independence Day and World Humanitarian Day, was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in New Delhi, Dwarka. The award was received by Commander (Dr.) Anil Rana, Director of MIT Manipal, and Dr. Balakrishna S. Maddodi, MIT NSS Program Officer, along with MIT Administrative Officer Sri Ratnakar Samanth. The award was presented by Honorable Sri Santosh Bagrodia, former Coal Minister of India and Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha.

The NSS units at MIT Manipal have significantly impacted society by promoting social responsibility. During the 2023–24 academic year, they organized over 45 community programs, including blood donation camps, environmental conservation efforts, and a variety of awareness campaigns. In his gratitude speech, Commander (Dr.) Anil Rana emphasized the role of education in developing responsible citizens.
