Communal tension erupted in Udaipur's Madhuban area on Thursday after a class 10 student stabbed a peer at a government school, according to local police.

The injured student, a Hindu, is currently under observation in an ICU, confirmed District Collector Arvind Poswal. The incident quickly escalated as members of Hindu right-wing groups gathered in the area, resulting in the arson of at least three cars and bouts of stone pelting.

Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal stated that additional officers have been deployed to restore order. The accused student has been detained pending further investigation.
