Leopard Attack Claims Life of 60-Year-Old Woman in Pilaana Village

A 60-year-old woman, identified as Santosh Devi from Pilaana village, was tragically mauled to death by a leopard on Saturday, authorities reported.
Devi was in a field with her sons, Subodh and Amod Tyagi, collecting fodder when the leopard attacked her. Despite their efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. This incident sparked a protest among locals, who blocked a road for over four hours. Local officials eventually persuaded them to call off the demonstration.
District Magistrate Ankit Agarwal visited the site and promised the grieving family a compensation of Rs 5 lakh. According to Forest Ranger Dushyant Singh, four cages have been put up to catch the leopard, while the deceased's body has been sent for an autopsy.
