New Delhi-based multi-instrumentalist Baba's latest English single, 'Hold Me Tonight,' has rocketed to the number one position on the iTunes US pop charts.

The singer-songwriter and producer has also garnered attention on the world indie charts, where the track climbed to the 13th spot, solidifying its global appeal.

'Hold Me Tonight' delves into the experience of anxiety and its isolating effects, offering a raw and emotional narrative aimed at encouraging personal change to enhance relationships, according to Baba.

With its release on August 15, the song's reflective lyrics and powerful message have resonated deeply with listeners. Baba, who hails from Assam, also directed the music video, which features artistic projections symbolising hope and resilience.

Going by the name his mother affectionately uses, Baba, whose real name is Abhiruk Patowary, has built a unique sound blending various musical genres.

Starting with the piano, he expanded his repertoire by learning drums at 12 and guitar at 14, ultimately developing a signature style.

Over the years, Baba has released several acclaimed albums and singles under multiple artist names. At 17, he debuted his first album 'Aerial' as Gaia, which, while not a commercial success, demonstrated his creative potential.

Recently, Baba undertook a 30-day song challenge, producing a new track each day. This ambitious project received praise from the UK edition of Rolling Stone magazine, describing it as a 'groundbreaking format' that could inspire artists to innovate.
