Three Indian tourists and their Nepali guide were rescued safely on Sunday from Nepal's Nagarkot forest, nearly 10 hours after they went missing, according to the police.
Identified as Nitin Tiwari, Rashmi Tiwari, Tanish Tiwari, and their guide Hari Prasad Kharel, the group had gone missing in the Muhan Pokhari Rani Jhula area of Bhaktapur district, 30 km east of Kathmandu.
The tourists, aged between 30 and 40, lost their way around 3 p.m. on Saturday. A rescue team arrived at midnight, as stated by Shyam Krishna Shrestha, chairman of Ward No. 7 Changunarayan.
Moving mistakenly towards a dense forest area instead of their intended Rani Jhula path, they were found in the Halhale Khowpa area, suffering from leech bites, according to Changunarayan Mayor Jivan Khatri.
A coordinated rescue operation by the Armed Police Force, local representatives, and residents ensured their safe return to Kathmandu.
