Popular Tamil film actor-turned-politician Vijay unveiled the flag of his political party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), at the party headquarters in Panaiyur. The flag, featuring maroon, yellow, and motifs of tuskers and the Vaagai flower, marks a significant entry into Tamil Nadu politics.
The event also saw the official launch of the party anthem, heralding a new chapter as TVK prepares for the 2026 Assembly elections. Although Vijay had announced his political foray in February, he opted out of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, neither contesting nor supporting any party.
During the flag unveiling, Vijay took a pledge along with his party members to honor those who fought for the country's liberation and committed to eliminating caste, religion, gender, and birthplace differences, striving for equal opportunities and rights for all.
