A devastating blaze broke out at a hotel in Bucheon, South Korea, leading to the tragic deaths of six people and injuring 11 more, according to local officials.
Kim In-jae, director of Bucheon's public health department, disclosed that three of the injured victims are in a serious condition. Lee Sang-don from the Bucheon Fire Station reported that 23 guests were staying at the nine-story hotel when the fire erupted on Thursday evening.
The fire began on the eighth floor and has been nearly extinguished. However, the number of casualties could rise as emergency workers continue their search. While more than 150 firefighters and 46 vehicles were mobilized to tackle the inferno, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
