Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday called on women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to champion health, prosperity and organization in families, urging their leadership for India's development.

Chouhan, addressing the National Conference on Food, Nutrition, Health and WASH organized by the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission, praised the program's efforts and stressed avoiding abbreviations to respect the namesakes of schemes.

Minister Chouhan highlighted the necessity of addressing health alongside poverty alleviation, urging SHGs to spearhead initiatives in health and education to achieve a prosperous, healthy, and clean India. He cited PM Modi's goal of empowering three crore 'Lakhpati Didis' as a milestone. Additional remarks were made by Union Minister of State Chandra Shekhar Pemmasani, emphasizing women's emergence as community leaders through integrated mission programs.
