Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday stressed that crimes against women are an unpardonable sin and called for stringent actions against the guilty.
His comments came in the wake of protests over recent heinous crimes in Kolkata and Badlapur. Speaking at the Lakhpati Didi Sammelan in Maharashtra's Jalgaon, Modi reiterated the importance of women's safety as a national priority.
Furthermore, Modi highlighted the government's achievements in empowering women economically through various schemes and support to women self-help groups, which have significantly increased in the past decade.
