Padma Awards 2025 Nomination Process Begins

The nomination process for the Padma Awards 2025 is now open and will close on September 15, 2024. Citizens can nominate or recommend individuals, including themselves, via the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal. The awards honor outstanding achievements in various fields and are announced on Republic Day.

The Union Home Ministry has announced that the online process for nominations and recommendations for the Padma Awards 2025 is currently underway, with the deadline set for September 15, 2024.

All citizens are encouraged to participate in the process, including self-nominations, through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal.

Instituted in 1954, the Padma Awards — comprising Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri — recognize distinguished service in various fields and will be announced on Republic Day 2025. Government officials, except doctors and scientists, are not eligible. The Modi government has dubbed this initiative the 'People's Padma', aiming to acknowledge unsung heroes.
