Kannada Filmmaker Faces Charges After Crew Member's Fatal Fall

A case has been registered against Kannada filmmaker Yogaraj Bhat and three others following the fatal fall of a crew member, police reported on Saturday.
The incident took place on September 3 during the filming of 'Manada Kadalu' near Adakamaranahalli in the Madanayakanahalli police jurisdiction.
Mohan Kumar, a 24-year-old light boy, reportedly fell from a 30-foot ladder during the shoot, sustaining severe injuries. He was immediately transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Police registered the case based on a complaint lodged by Kumar's brother. Those named in the FIR have been served notices, and a senior officer confirmed that further investigation is ongoing.
In a related development, the Film Industry for Rights & Equality (FIRE), which advocates for justice in the film industry, offered condolences to Kumar's family. The organization emphasized its commitment to working with unions and government bodies to secure fundamental benefits for film industry workers.
