City Unites in '9-9-9' Protest: Justice for Trainee Doctor

In a powerful demonstration of solidarity, different parts of the metropolis witnessed '9-9-9' rallies, demanding justice for the postgraduate trainee doctor from RG Kar hospital who was allegedly raped and murdered.
The participants gathered for nine minutes at 9 PM on Monday, singing the national anthem and lighting up their mobile flashlights in areas including Shyambazar, Esplanade, New Town, and Jadavpur, among others.
'We have symbolically named the protest '9-9-9' to mark one month since the brutal attack on our sister,' said Ushashi Dey, a protesting college student. The incident has sparked nationwide outrage, with protesters urging immediate punishment for the accused.
