Kirti Bharadia's Historic Trans-Ocean Swim

Kirti Nandkishore Bharadia, an 18-year-old swimmer from Solapur, Maharashtra, plans to set a new world record by swimming non-stop from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka to Dhanushkodi in India. Scheduled for September 20, the 34 to 40-kilometer swim is expected to take 12 to 14 hours.

Kirti Nandkishore Bharadia, an 18-year-old swimmer from Solapur, Maharashtra, is set to attempt a world record swim from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka to Dhanushkodi (Rameswaram) in India on September 20. The challenging swim covers a distance between 34 to 40 kilometers and is estimated to take 12 to 14 hours.

Starting at 2 am local time, Bharadia will brave the waters where the Arabian and Indian Oceans meet. Her coach, Rupali Repale, confirmed that world record officials will be present to document and verify the attempt.

The governments of India and Sri Lanka have granted special permission, acknowledging Bharadia's dedication and extensive preparation for this monumental feat.
