African Delegates Tour India’s Advanced River Management Centre

Delegates from Africa, along with a GIZ team, visited India's PRAYAG real-time monitoring centre for the Yamuna and Ganga rivers. Hosted by Nalin Kumar Srivastava of the NMCG, the tour showcased India's river management projects, technologies like solar-powered sewage treatment plants, and highlighted international cooperation.

Delegates from Africa, accompanied by a GIZ team, toured the PRAYAG real-time monitoring centre for the Yamuna and Ganga rivers, gaining insights into India’s advanced river management strategies.

Hosted on Friday by Nalin Kumar Srivastava, Deputy Director General of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), the visit highlighted key Namami Gange projects, environmental flows (EFlow), and the Ganga Geo Portal. Discussions emphasized innovative solutions like solar-powered sewage treatment plants.

The exchange underscored global cooperation in river management, with NMCG leaders and African delegates discussing sustainable solutions and technologies. The visit bolstered hope for expanded international collaboration in river rejuvenation efforts.
