Tragedy in South Tripura: Decomposed Body Found After Devastating Flood

The decomposed body of 43-year-old Birmoni Tripura has been recovered from a remote village in South Tripura, over a month after he went missing during a devastating flood, according to a government minister.
Birmoni, a resident of Kayarampra, disappeared on August 21 while repairing a drain amid heavy rainfall. Tragically, four of his family members were also buried in landslides the same day.
State Cooperative Minister Suklacharan Noatia announced that Birmoni's body was recovered after extensive efforts and that the state and central governments would provide financial compensation to his next of kin. The flood claimed 36 lives and left over 1.25 lakh people homeless, with thousands seeking shelter in relief camps.
