The year 2018 was wonderful for the horror movie fans due to the release of superhit (horror) movies such as 'Annihilation', 'Halloween', 'A Quite Place', 'Suspiria', 'Mandy' to name a few. The year 2019 is likely to be more fascinating than 2018 for those who are ardently waiting for horror movies' premieres. Here we have made a list of best horror movies to be released in 2019.

Escape Room

'Escape Room' is considered one of the best horror movies of 2019. This American psychological horror thriller film stars renowned actors like Logan Miller, Jay Ellis, Deborah Ann Woll, Nik Dodani, Taylor Russell and Tyler Labine. The story follows a group of people (six strangers) who are sent to an escape room just to find the consequences are deadly. The rooms where they are sent contain deadly traps and they must utilize their wits to survive. Directed by Adam Robitel, the movie is to be released on January 4, 2019.

Piercing

Nicholas Pesce-directed upcoming movie 'Piercing' is absolutely in the list of best horror movies of 2019. This American horror comedy film stars Christopher Abbott, Laia Costa, Mia Wasikowska, Maria Dizzia to name a few. 'Piercing already had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2018. The movie is slated to hit the big screens on February 1, 2019.

Happy Death Day 2U

'Happy Death Day 2U' is a sequel to 2017's horror film 'Happy Death Day'. The movie stars renowned actors like Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Suraj Sharma, Sarah Yarkin, Ruby Modine to name a few. The story is likely to commence after the events of the first film and Jessica's reprising character Theresa Gelbman aka Tree unexpectedly or unknowingly re-enters the time loop. While seeing her friends also involved in it, she determines to come out of it anyhow. Christopher Landon-directed 'Happy Death Day 2U' is scheduled to be released on February 14, 2019.

Pet Sematary

Another one of the best upcoming horror movies of 2019 is 'Pet Sematary'. Directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer, the supernatural horror film 'Pet Sematary' is the second adaptation of the novel of the similar name by the American horror-supernatural fiction author Stephen King. The movie stars actors like Amy Seimetz, Jason Clarke, John Lithgow, Jeté Laurence etc. The story a medical specialist who relocates with his family to some place where he later discovers that the place is a pet cemetery that rests on an ancient burial ground. His son is also killed in an auto accident and his corpse is later brought to the cemetery where the body gets resurrected in demonic form. 'Pet Sematary' is slated to hit the big screens on April 5, 2019.

The Curse of La Llorona

Directed by Michael Chaves, 'The Curse of La Llorona' is scheduled to have its premiere on April 19, 2019. Actors like Linda Cardellini, Raymond Cruz, Patricia Velásquez, Marisol Ramirez, Irene Keng etc. will be seen in the upcoming American supernatural horror. Marisol Ramirez's La Llorona is known as a Weeping Woman in the movie. She is a female ghost in Mexican folklore who lost her children and causes misfortune to those nearby. 'The Curse of La Llorona' will be released on April 19, 2019.

Apart from the above horror films, 'BrightBurn', 'Child's Play', 'Grudge', 'Annabelle 3', 'It: Chapter Two', 'Midsommar', '3 From Hell' etc. are also in the list of best horror movies of 2019.
