Tragic Attack on Laborers in Balochistan Highlights Ongoing Separatist Violence

In a tragic incident, at least seven laborers hailing from Punjab's Multan were brutally killed by separatist militants in the restive Balochistan province of Pakistan, police confirmed on Sunday.

The laborers, asleep in an under-construction house in Panjgur town's Khuda-e-Abadan area, were attacked late Saturday night. Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari reported that the armed assailants unleashed an indiscriminate spray of bullets, using automatic weapons.

While one laborer managed to escape with an injury, another was not present at the scene. Authorities have launched an investigation into the attack. This incident, which bears the hallmarks of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), has been strongly condemned by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari. It adds to a series of violent attacks by banned separatist groups targeting non-native civilians in Balochistan.
