Direct selling giant Amway has named Michael Nelson as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Nelson succeeds Milind Pant, who held the CEO position since January 2019, according to a company statement.
With over 30 years of experience at Amway, Nelson has filled essential leadership roles in strategy, supply chain, human resources, and technology, among other areas. ''...We are confident that he provides exactly what Amway needs to maintain its industry leadership, growth, and success well into the future,'' said Co-Chair Steve Van Andel.
The Amway Board of Directors also extended their gratitude to outgoing CEO Milind Pant for his outstanding service and leadership over the past six years, stating, ''He guided us through global challenges and refined our business strategy. Today, we are well-positioned to continue leading and growing in the health and wellbeing industry,'' added Van Andel.
Pant was marked as the first Indian and non-family individual to serve as the CEO of Amway, taking on the role from January 2, 2019.
