On Friday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin paid heartfelt tributes on Border Martyrs Day, recognizing those who fought for the inclusion of Tamil-speaking areas in the state.
BJP state president K Annamalai and TVK founder Vijay highlighted that Tamil Nadu's present geographical boundaries were established on November 1, 1956, through linguistic reorganization, proposing that this day be celebrated as Tamil Nadu Day.
Reflecting on the sacrifices made, Stalin, on the social platform 'X', emphasized the importance of November 1 to honor those who protected Tamil Nadu's borders. Both political leaders and actors extended greetings, emphasizing Tamil Nadu's emergence as a separate state for the Tamil language.
