A tragic incident unfolded in Ponjassery near Perumbavoor when a five-year-old boy lost his life after being struck by an uprooted coconut tree on Saturday morning. The boy, identified as Al Ameen, was the son of Mohammed, a native of Assam, currently residing in the area.

The accident happened near the family's rented home, and despite being immediately taken to a private hospital in Aluva, medical efforts to save the child's life were unsuccessful, as informed by local residents.

Following the incident, a case has been registered by the police to investigate the circumstances leading to this unfortunate event.
