Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav took to social media platform X to salute Guru Ravidas' transformative philosophy, which they said commits society to truth, charity, and harmony. Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati further criticized rival parties for lacking commitment in preserving the saint's legacy through naming honors.
On this occasion, Mayawati listed several initiatives by the BSP government honoring Guru Ravidas, such as Sant Ravidas Park and Ghat in Varanasi and Sant Ravidas Government College in Faizabad. The state marked February 12 as a public holiday to commemorate the revered social reformer's birth anniversary.
