Mumbai Police have intensified their investigation into controversial comments made by social media influencer Ranveer Allahbadia, aired on the YouTube show, 'India's Got Latent'. Seven individuals, including influencer Apoorva Makhija, have so far recorded their statements on the matter.
An Assam Police team is in Mumbai to conduct their own investigation, with officials visiting the Khar police station for updates. The Guwahati Police previously filed a case against Allahbadia and four others, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
The Maharashtra Cyber Department and other authorities are issuing summonses to more than 40 individuals related to the show. The incident has sparked a broader discussion on freedom of speech, prompting political intervention and a request from the National Commission for Women for key figures to appear in New Delhi.
