Literary Titans Honored at KLF Book Awards

The 4th Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) book awards celebrated distinguished authors in English and Hindi. Among the winners were Vikas Swarup, Vikram Sampath, and Manisha Kulshrestha. Awards covered various genres, recognizing literary contributions with cash prizes, citations, and trophies, underscoring the role of storytelling in cultural preservation.

The Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) book awards, held on Saturday, honored outstanding authors for their exemplary contributions to English and Hindi literature. Prominent recipients included English authors Vikas Swarup and Vikram Sampath, alongside Hindi writers like Manisha Kulshrestha and Prabhat Ranjan.

The KLF book awards, offered in seven English and six Hindi categories, recognized excellence across literary genres including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and children's literature. Each winner received a Rs one lakh cash prize, a citation, a trophy, and a traditional shawl, affirming the importance of their work.

Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat highlighted storytelling's influence in sustaining India's literary heritage. Meanwhile, Ashok Kumar Bal of KLF acknowledged the books' potential to inspire global conversations and broaden perspectives, as the festival looks to continue fostering literary discourse worldwide.
