Sushilatai leaves behind her sons, one of whom is Ashokrao Patil Nilangekar, Congress state secretary. She was also closely linked to various political figures through family ties.

Her familial connections reached across parties, as she was the mother-in-law of former BJP MP Rupatai Patil Nilangekar and grandmother to notable political figures like ex-Maharashtra minister Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar.
