West Bengal's Tourism Boom: Massive Investments and Visitor Surge
West Bengal's tourism sector recently garnered investment proposals of nearly Rs 5,600 crore at a business summit. New projects are being planned, with a significant portion in south Bengal. Tourist arrivals, both domestic and international, have seen a substantial rise, signaling positive growth for the state's tourism industry.

West Bengal's tourism industry is poised for substantial growth following recent investment proposals totaling nearly Rs 5,600 crore, presented at a state business summit, according to the Tourism Minister. The investments are expected to materialize by the next fiscal year.
In an announcement, the minister cited 70 upcoming tourism-related projects for 2025-26, primarily concentrated in south Bengal, with a total anticipated cost of Rs 71 crore.
Tourism is already on an upswing in West Bengal, with domestic tourist visits rising from nearly eight crore in 2022-23 to 18.4 crore in the current term. Foreign tourists also increased from 10 lakh to 31 lakh in the same period, indicating robust growth.
