Hollywood heavyweights Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese are set to collaborate once again on a gripping crime movie with Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt. The film will be based on an original concept by the latter duo, renowned for their work in the Disney hit 'Jungle Cruise.'
The untitled crime drama, akin to Scorsese's acclaimed works such as 'Goodfellas' and 'The Departed,' is set against the scenic backdrop of Hawaii. Author and journalist Nick Bilton, who gained acclaim for his 2021 HBO documentary 'Fake Famous,' is tasked with the screenplay. The story will explore a volatile period in the Hawaiian underworld during the 1960s and 1970s.
Production powerhouse Scorsese and DiCaprio will produce the film, joined by Johnson, Blunt, Bilton, Dany Garcia, Lisa Frechette, and Rick Yorn. This project will also see the reunion of Johnson and Blunt, soon to appear together in Benny Safdie's 'The Smashing Machine.'
