The Uttar Pradesh government has intensified its preparations for the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, with a focus on ensuring a smooth experience for devotees during the final significant bath on Mahashivratri, set for February 26.
Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and Director General of Police Prashant Kumar visited the Maha Kumbh site to personally review the arrangements and deliver essential instructions to officials. Comprehensive strategies are in place for traffic regulation and crowd management to smoothly conduct rituals, particularly during the anticipated weekend influx.
The state government is also actively monitoring attempts to disrupt the event's sanctity through misleading social media activity. DGP Kumar asserted that over 50 FIRs have been filed against individuals spreading misinformation about the event. The Maha Kumbh, which commenced on January 13, has seen approximately 59 crore participants, including prominent dignitaries and international visitors, partaking in the world's largest religious and cultural gathering.
