Actor Aditya Pancholi's Assault Case: Jail Term Modified to Probation

A Mumbai sessions court has upheld the conviction of Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi in a 2005 assault case, maintaining his guilt but altering his sentence.

The court has replaced Pancholi's one-year jail term with a probation, contingent on his good behaviour, and ordered a Rs 1.5 lakh compensation to the victim, Pratik Pashine.

The alteration comes as part of an appeal hearing, where Additional Sessions Judge D G Dhoble noted no legal misconduct in the original verdict but granted the actor probation under the Probation of Offenders Act.
