Wagh, who spearheads the women's wing of Maharashtra BJP, underscored the significance of Marathi, asserting, "Those residing in Maharashtra must know or be willing to learn Marathi." She advocated for prioritizing Marathi proficiency in hiring processes within the state.

The controversy stems from a clip shot at an Airtel gallery in Mumbai, where a female employee reportedly declined to address a customer complaint in Marathi. The company has deemed the situation unfortunate, pledging to implement corrective protocols.
