Film enthusiasts have a new reason to be excited as the much-anticipated 'The Hunt for Gollum' from The Lord of the Rings franchise is set to hit cinemas on December 17, 2027. Directed by Andy Serkis, who also reprises his role as Gollum, the film promises to delve deeper into the enigmatic character's storyline. Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema confirmed this update, raising expectations for the latest installment.

The film reunites the Oscar-winning team of Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens, who take on production roles alongside Zane Weiner. Scriptwriting duties are handled by Walsh and Boyens, along with Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou. In other exciting news for horror aficionados, a new chapter in the Evil Dead saga will arrive in North American theaters on July 24, 2026. This follows the successful release of Evil Dead Rise. The latest film stars Souheila Yacoub and is produced by original series creators Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi, with Bruce Campbell, formerly Ash, serving as an executive producer.

Additionally, M. Night Shyamalan returns with 'Remain,' a romantic thriller slated for worldwide release on October 23, 2026. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Phoebe Dynevor, and Ashley Walters, the film is derived from a concept by Shyamalan and renowned author Nicholas Sparks. Sparks will concurrently publish a novel, 'Remain,' on October 7, 2025. These announcements promise a compelling line-up of films in the coming years.
