Yoga Day: Reviving Faith and Heritage in Delhi

On the International Day of Yoga, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta performed yoga at Sonia Vihar along the Yamuna river, aiming to highlight the ongoing river-cleaning efforts. Gupta was joined by BJP MP Manoj Tiwari and cabinet minister Kapil Mishra, alongside thousands of yoga practitioners across Delhi, marking the event's grand celebration.

Criticizing the AAP government for not celebrating the occasion, Gupta argued they associated yoga with Prime Minister Modi, accusing them of neglecting the popular initiative. She asserted that the BJP-led government in Delhi connects the city's residents with both yoga and the critical cleanup of the Yamuna river.

Delhi's Education Minister, Ashish Sood, emphasized the large-scale celebrations, involving over 20,000 participants at 11 locations, and highlighted yoga as a significant aspect of India's cultural heritage. Sood, leading the event at Chhatrasal Stadium, underscored the global connection fostered by yoga under Prime Minister Modi's leadership.
