Chemical Conservation Project to Preserve Trimbakeshwar Temple

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) plans to commence chemical conservation on the historic Trimbakeshwar temple in Maharashtra after the monsoon. This initiative coincides with preparations for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, scheduled to begin on October 31, 2026. The project aims to clean, treat, and fix the temple's structural issues.

This year's Kumbh Mela in Maharashtra will see the Archaeological Survey of India embark on a mission to conserve the iconic Trimbakeshwar temple in Nashik.

Dedicated to Lord Shiva and recognized as one of India's 12 jyotirlingas, the temple will undergo chemical treatment post-monsoon.

The conservation effort aligns with the Kumbh Mela, with treatments expected to wrap by February, as crowds gather for the major event.
