According to Sacnilk, a prominent trade tracking site, the film gathered an impressive Rs 24.75 crore nett during its debut weekend. It opened with Rs 7.25 crore and followed with Rs 8.25 crore and Rs 9.25 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The first film, directed by Ashwni Dhir, was a massive hit with a global collection of Rs 161.48 crore.

The original narrative centered around Jaswinder 'Jassi' Singh Randhawa, played by Devgn, who returns to his native village in Punjab from London, setting off a series of unforeseen events.
