In Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent 'Mann Ki Baat' address, he highlighted the importance of Paithani sarees and praised Dhavale's significant contributions. Originating from Maharashtra's Paithan region, these sarees are painstakingly handwoven.
From receiving a modest monthly stipend when she began weaving, Dhavale now boasts a thriving business with an annual turnover of Rs 20 lakh. She encourages women to seek self-employment and emphasizes that learning a traditional craft can lead to empowered and sustainable livelihoods.
