The Delhi High Court ruled on Thursday, rejecting a petition to halt the release of the film 'Udaipur Files', which dramatizes the murder case of tailor Kanhaiya Lal. The film's release, scheduled for tomorrow, will proceed as planned.
A bench consisting of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela dismissed the plea, noting the petitioner failed to establish a compelling case. They highlighted significant financial commitments by the producer, which would disrupt the balance of convenience if the stay was granted.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting cleared all appeals against the film's certification on Wednesday, reinforcing the bench's stance. The court underscored that the movie's release would not prejudice the ongoing trial.
