Bautista Cast as Villain in Star-Studded 'Highlander' Remake

Dave Bautista is set to portray the antagonist Kurgan in the remake of 'Highlander,' starring Henry Cavill as the immortal Scottish warrior, MacLeod. Directed by Chad Stahelski and featuring Russell Crowe as Ramirez, this retelling promises an epic showdown of immortal warriors.

Dave Bautista, known for his roles in films like 'Blade Runner 2049' and 'Army of the Dead,' will play the antagonist in the forthcoming remake of the Hollywood classic 'Highlander.' Henry Cavill, the once Superman star, leads the project, being spearheaded by Amazon MGM's United Artists.

In a star-studded cast that includes Oscar winner Russell Crowe and 'Industry' actress Marisa Abela, Bautista will portray The Kurgan, an immortal barbarian determined to conquer other immortals. Helmed by 'John Wick' director Chad Stahelski, the remake boasts a script by Michael Finch.

The original 'Highlander,' which debuted in 1986, featured Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish warrior. In this modern retelling, Cavill assumes the role of MacLeod, with Crowe as the swordsman Ramirez. The film is produced by Scott Stuber, Nick Nesbitt, and Neal H Moritz, among others.
