Acclaimed director Michael Bay has officially stepped away from the upcoming Netflix film 'Fast and Loose,' according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter. Bay's departure is attributed to creative differences with actor Will Smith, who is also producing the film.

'Fast and Loose,' an action-packed narrative, follows a crime boss who loses his memory following an attack, only to unravel secrets of his dual existence as a criminal mastermind and a CIA agent. The screenplay, the brainchild of Jon Hoeber, Erich Hoeber, Chris Bremner, and Eric Pearson, has been under development for several years.

Despite Bay's exit, Netflix remains committed to the project and intends to kick off production in 2026. This follows a turbulent history for the film, with director David Leitch departing in 2022 to pursue 'The Fall Guy.' 'Fast and Loose' will be produced by Leitch and Kelly McCormick, alongside Will Smith, with executive producers Robert Simonds and Noah Fogelson.
