In a poignant farewell to one of Assam's most beloved voices, singer Zubeen Garg was cremated with full state honors at Kamarkuchi on the outskirts of Guwahati. The ceremony was attended by thousands of mourners, as Vedic hymns echoed through the leafy surroundings.
Garg's sister Palme Borthakur and protégé Rahul Gautam lit the funeral pyre amid gun salutes. The emotionally charged atmosphere was marked by slogans of 'Zubeen, Zubeen' as friends, family, and fans paid their respects.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, along with other dignitaries, laid floral tributes while Garg's iconic melodies resonated, uniting the somber gathering in a shared love for the artist whose work spanned over three decades.
