In an unexpected twist to the Dussehra celebrations in Bhopal, a giant Ravana effigy was set on fire early this morning, leading to widespread astonishment among the event's organizers. The effigy's fiery demise forced them to urgently arrange for an alternative before the evening ceremonies.
The incident, which occurred at about 6 am in the Bagh Mugalia-Ashima Mall area, had eyewitnesses claiming that a couple, seemingly under the influence and seen smoking, were responsible. A viral video corroborates these reports, showing a red car without a registration plate speeding from the scene.
The local police have registered a complaint against unknown individuals, with efforts underway to track down the culprits. In the meantime, the festival participants swiftly constructed a new effigy to ensure the 'Ravan Dahan' ritual can continue as planned, albeit under heightened security and scrutiny.
