The movie, penned and directed by Noah Baumbach, is Sandler's latest venture into a dramatic role.

'Jay Kelly,' Baumbach's first film since 2022, features Sandler alongside George Clooney, Laura Dern, and Billy Crudup. The film tells the story of Jay Kelly, played by Clooney, a famous actor who finds himself on a journey of self-discovery through Europe with his devoted manager Ron, portrayed by Sandler.

The film received a 10-minute standing ovation at the Venice International Film Festival. While Oscar recognition would be a first for Sandler, he has previously showcased his dramatic abilities in movies like 'Punch-Drunk Love' and 'Uncut Gems.' 'Jay Kelly' will hit select theaters on November 14 and premiere on Netflix on December 5.
