Tragedy Strikes During Durga Idol Immersion in Ayodhya

A Durga idol immersion ceremony in Ayodhya turned tragic Thursday with the death of a 16-year-old boy named Sandeep. The young resident of Salhipur Parsipur village slipped into a pond during the ceremony, drowning in the process, according to police reports.
Sandeep was at the event with family and villagers when the incident occurred, prompting immediate response efforts. A police team, equipped with divers, worked for five hours to recover his body from the water.
Although Sandeep was quickly taken to a community health center, doctors there pronounced him dead upon arrival. Additional District Magistrate Anirudh Singh confirmed the boy's death, and the police have sent his body for a post-mortem examination.
